Wildlife pond

"Kate and Dave took my rather vague ideas of an ordinary garden pond, and created a lovely oasis of calm with gentle running water surrounded by beautiful plants, looking as though it has always been there. From the production of excellent plans, to their execution, they were totally professional, including me in their ideas, incredibly hard working, finishing the project on time and with absolutely no mess for me to clear up. As well as their gardening expertise, they were a joy to have around - I am considering what else they could create for me."

Our brief was to design and install a pond to primarily encourage wildlife. The pond was created withplanting shelves for marginal plants, a beach area for wildlife to access the water and stone ledges to provide cover for small creatures. Also the subtle sound of running water was wanted.

We handselected stone from the local quarry a mile from the garden. We installed a section of large coping stones that provide seating on the edge of the existing terrace.  A high quality butyl liner with underlay was installed behind a small stone wall completely concealing the liner from view. This not only aesthetically pleasing, but helps to prolong the life of the liner.
